Young angler holding a king mackerel caught on a six hour trip in June 2026

June 2026 · 6 hour trip

Barracuda and kingfish with a 12 year old on the rod

Reported catch was great barracuda and king mackerel. Captain Lacy ran the trip with his son Brandon as mate.

“Their knowledge on everything, fish, the ocean, wildlife, boating, and of course fishing, was really awesome.” Darren Duch, Pennsylvania

Anglers with a wahoo caught on a six hour April 2026 charter

April 2026 · 6 hour trip

“He was knowledgeable, patient, and knew exactly where to take us.” Stacey Church, Colorado

Sailfish caught on a full day February 2026 charter off Pompano Beach

February 2026 · 8 hour trip

A wahoo and a sailfish on the same day

Reported catch was great barracuda, wahoo and sailfish. The captain called it an epic day. February sits inside the peak sailfish window.

“You cannot fake knowledge, which Capt Lacy has.” Jay Zupan, Colorado

April 2026 · 8 hour trip

A hard day with weed lines, and a fish anyway

Heavy sargassum made presentation difficult all morning. The captain rotated techniques, worked the VHF with other boats, and stayed with it. The angler reported tuna and booked forward.

“He never gives up, tries various techniques and presentations to catch fish and stays in contact with other vessels out in the ocean.” Kurt Hopkins, Kentucky

March 2026 · 4 hour late start

Slow start, wahoo and tuna by the end

Nothing happened early. The captain kept working and put two good fish in the boat, then stayed out an extra half hour on the run back to give the anglers one more shot.

“His effort paid off and we ended up landing two great ones, a wahoo and a tuna.” Zachary Hazan, Quebec

When to come for what

South Florida fishes all twelve months, but the target changes. This is the general seasonal pattern off Pompano Beach, not a promise about any single day. Call the boat for the current bite.

Dec to Mar

Sailfish season

The strongest window of the year for billfish. Cold fronts push sailfish down the coast and kite fishing comes into its own. Kingfish and blackfin tuna run alongside.

Nov to Mar

Wahoo and kingfish

Cooler water brings wahoo within reach of a short run. Kingfish stack on the reef edges. Amberjack and cobia show on the wrecks through late winter.

Apr to Jul

Mahi mahi

Warm water and weed lines mean dolphin. This is the best stretch for a boat full of fish and the easiest season for kids and first timers.

All year

Reef and wreck

Yellowtail and red snapper, grouper and barracuda hold on structure twelve months a year. This is the backbone of every short trip and the fallback when it blows.

Biting right now, August

Mid summer off Pompano Beach means mahi mahi, kingfish, amberjack, cobia, great barracuda, goliath grouper, red and yellowtail snapper, wahoo, and the odd sailfish. Early departures beat the afternoon heat and the summer squall line.
